So, even though I finally received my Visa last week which is the official piece of paper that basically says "Peter can stay here in Finland until June 30, 2012" I still don't have plane tickets! Eek! My travel agent says that she is trying to make it so lots of the exchange students from Canada & the US travel together, but I am really freaking out because it is the Finnish Exchange program mandate that I need to arrive in Helsinki on August 7 (NEXT SUNDAY!!!!) but I have no tickets yet....
Well, I haven't really started packing. My mom has loaded up a suitcase with Canada paraphernalia (pins, Olympic mitts, maple syrup, etc.) but not me yet.
Today I cleaned my room. Hopefully it will stay clean until I arrive home next year, that is if it can stay clean for a week...
I am really excited and nervous to leave.
Over the course of the next year I will be embarking on a journey of a lifetime! I will be attending high school in Kauhava, Finland on a Rotary International Youth Exchange. Stay tuned to track my journey across the Finnish line!

Let's Start at the Very Beginning
So Today I got my VISA!!! finally... so now we can start on the next step, booking some tickets for next weekend. I really can't believe that I will be leaving so soon. And for an entire year, returning no later than June 30, 2012.
